Technology and Project Concepts

In the course of our project work, we apply a wide variety of technologies, for human communications, hardware and software for desktop computers, networking and internet. As with so many things in our world today, the only constant is change. Managing this change and the advances in technologies by using our resources, and always looking for and applying "core concepts" helps keep the challenge of change in check.

Favorite Technologies include:

  • World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) Standards, such as XHTML and CSS
  • Open Source Software, such as Drupal, PHP, MySQL and others
  • Open Space Meetings and on-line collaboration tools

Some of the "Core Concepts" we like to apply:

  • Use of recognized standards and best practices
  • Eliminating redundancy
  • Entry and verification of data at the point of collection
  • One time entry of data and delivery of information as it is needed
  • Maintaining security of personal and confidential data
  • Maintaining data integrity
  • Providing for easy data maintenance
  • Taking advantage of learning opportunities
  • Solid project documentation practices for code, user and administration documentation, and project communications
  • Employee, contractor, and client evaluations
