How We Work

We work with our clients in partnership to enhance their mission, goals, and delivery of services. The Whole Systems Approach is a philosophy developed over many years of observing systems projects and discovering the formulas for success. There is a huge body of knowledge available, and the formula isn't static or consistent, there is no secret formula or guarantee of success in systems projects. The whole systems approach simply expands the scope of projects to include things commonly ignored, strives to increase participation by people who will benefit from success, and is designed to help everyone involved understand common project objectives. On a basic level there are three key steps we apply in partnership with our clients.

  1. Evaluate your organization mission, people, and processes and identify the best available application of technology into a program or project. The objective for a project must provide a common foundation, one of "noble purpose" that everyone can support with passion.
  2. Develop and structure an implementation strategy which balances sustainability and usability on a foundation of noble purpose. For a project to be sustainable, it must be supported by time, money, and manpower which can be maintained for its entire life-cycle. System functions and processes must be designed to provide easy maintenance, integrity of data, and information access for people as it is needed.
  3. Manage culture change using an evolutionary, phased approach. The scope for any project phase is determined if the resulting value can be identified, and is attainable with available resources of time, skills, data and money, and can be accomplished in an acceptable period of time.
